Application and Award Process

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis starting June 22, 2026. Applications will be accepted until September 30, 2026, or whenever funds run out, whichever is sooner.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Please allow at least 60 days from submission for review and award decision.

Staff Eligibility Review

Upon receipt, staff will review the application for basic eligibility. Once reviewed, staff will provide the application to the “MyHBG Grant Program Review Committee”.

Review Committee Scoring

A Grant Review Committee will meet to evaluate all applications and provide recommendations to CREDC for final approval or denial.

The Grant Review Committee is comprised of the following:

  • Harrisburg City Mayor or Business Administrator
  • Harrisburg City Council Designee
  • Harrisburg City Community and Economic Development Designee
  • Harrisburg City Engineer
  • Harrisburg City Parks and Recreation Director
  • Harrisburg DID
  • PA Downtown Center Designee
  • Visit Hershey/Harrisburg Designee

Award Notification

Applicants will be notified via the contact information provided on their application. Please ensure all contact information provided on the application form is accurate.

Grant Funds Disbursement (IMPORTANT)

This is a reimbursement program.

Grant recipients will be required to submit a payment request form with accompanying documentation showing proof of payment for costs associated with the approved project. Please be sure to keep all itemized receipts showing proof of payment, including any receipts individuals receive when purchasing for the project.

Acceptable documentation for reimbursement must show cost and proof of payment e.g. a receipt showing the items purchased and a payment transaction, an invoice with an accompanying payment receipt, etc.

Upon review of documentation and verification of project completion, a reimbursement check will be remitted from CREDC to the recipient.
